TELEPHONE REPAIR

If you do not hear dial tone on your line, get unnecessary interference or static, your telephone jack in your room is broken or inoperable, or you are having trouble making calls*, notify the Duquesne University Telecommunications Department at x6059. When leaving a message for repair, speak clearly, leave full name, room number, phone extension and detailed explanation of problem.

Please try the following before placing a call to the repair line:

  • Try another phone in your telephone jack
  • Make sure your telephone is plugged into the correct jack. There is only one telephone jack per room and your telephone will not work if you plug it into a data jack
  • If using a cordless phone, make sure it has a full charge AND is plugged into a phone jack and electrical outlet

PLEASE NOTE: If you reside in Assumption, St. Ann's, St. Martin's, Towers, or Vickroy, you WILL NOT have dial tone on your telephone line unless you subscribe to STS service.

*Do not call the repair line if you are experiencing problems with your Campus Calling Card or your Voice Mail. Please call STS directly at x4425.
