Service Options for Assumption, St. Ann's, St. Martin's, Towers, and Vickroy Residents*

Effective May 2007, residence hall dial tone will be provided only upon request. This change is being made in light of the small number of students who use the University's telephone service and the cost of maintaining these connections. The University is providing two options:

Campus-Only Dialing Option

  • $45.00 PER SEMESTER activation fee--no refund for early cancellation
  • This option will allow you to place campus calls, receive campus calls, and receive off-campus calls
  • This service includes Voice Mail, Caller ID (you provide the Caller ID box), Anonymous Call Rejection, Distinctive Ringing, Call Waiting, and Tone Block (Disable Call Waiting)
  • Students are responsible for providing the phone to be connected
  • The first semester activation fee MUST be paid (STS accepts cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, or Discover) before service activation is scheduled
  • The second semester activation fee will be charged to your December STS invoice

Campus and Off-Campus Dialing Option

  • $100.00 first semester activation fee and $50.00 second semester activation fee--no refund for early cancellation
  • This option will allow you to place on and off-campus calls, receive campus calls, and receive off-campus calls
  • This service includes Voice Mail, Caller ID (you provide the Caller ID box), Anonymous Call Rejection, Distinctive Ringing, Call Waiting, Tone Block (Disable Call Waiting), Call Transfer, and Three-Way Calling
  • Students are responsible for providing the phone to be connected
  • The first semester activation fee MUST be paid (STS accepts cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, or Discover) before service activation is scheduled
  • The second semester activation fee will be charged to your December STS invoice
  • A $12.00 per month fee will be billed to your STS account
    The monthly fee includes:
    Unlimited FREE local calling (Metropolitan area 1 calls ONLY)
    Metropolitan areas 2 and 3 calls - 5 cents per minute
    Metropolitan area 4 and Pennsylvania toll calls - 7 cents per minute
    Long distance calls (including U.S., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands) - 6 cents per minute

    The ability to place toll-free calls
  • Please note: If you do not sign up for one of the above options, you will not be able to place or receive phone calls using the University's telephone service.
